oh boy, we may have created a monster - here's my second post in two seconds.
is there a way to be notified when someone posts something new to this, or do we have to keep checking it?
thanks, Lynda

Yes. I use Bloglines http://www.bloglines.com for RSS feeds, but there are any number of similar products. Bloglines also has a nifty "Notifier" extension - it creates an icon that sits in the taskbar and lets you know when there are new posts to any blogs that you subscribe to. It's really scary when you get a little popup that says "You have 4,339 new items"
I don't see a way to get the RSS link either from the blog or by searching in blogline -- those are the only two ways I know how to do this!
I tried the "Posts (Atom)" link at the bottom of the Ames Chat page, but I'm not sure where to store the program that opens. I tried putting it on the desktop through IE but bloglines didn't recognize it.
Anyone else have some clues?
Lynda, there is also an Outlook plugin that will allow you to veiw RSS feeds, since most of us use Outlook, I can test this product out for you and see if this will work. Brian
By using "Copy Link Location" from the right mouse click, I was then able to add the feed to my Bloglines.
Like Marcia, I use Bloglines and like it a lot. I use Firefox tabs extensively and so have one set to Bloglines. My other is set to an Ames page.
Ohh... one necessary detail...
The link location to copy is the Posts (Atom) one to which Meg referred. :)
I did get subscribed to the feed the other day, but it only seems to notify me of new posts, not comments within old posts. Additionally, it doesn't notify me in real time and has been "unavailable for service" a few times today.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
